2019 Artificial Intelligence Think Tank Forum

The 2019 AI Think Tank Forum, hosted by TTCSP with partners the Brookings Institution, the Canon Institute for Global Studies, the Centre for International Governance Innovation and the Wilson Centre, is taking place at a truly extraordinary historical moment and at the physical center of technological innovation, the Silicon Valley. Our participants will be able to take part in the first platform to explore AI in the perspective and for the function of think tanks by discussing the three pillars we have focused on for the Forum: Impact of AI on Public Policy, Governance, and Policy Advice. The AI Forum is designed to bring together the think tank community with policymakers and corporate executives to explore the impact of AI on business, politics and society, to identify areas of potential research and explore possible collaborative research and institutional partnerships. It is our hope that by working together we can harness the power of AI technologies to enable a prosperous, inclusive and thriving future for the citizens and countries we represent. 

All over the world, think tanks play a key role as policy advisors, innovative leaders, and reliable researchers. Especially in times of extreme disruption and change, people will look more to think tanks for credible research to help them predict and adapt to the changes that they cannot interpret on their own. Therefore, to remain relevant in the 21st century, it is imperative for think tanks and policy institutions to learn how to harness AI for the public good. Think tanks should not only study the impact of Artificial Intelligence but should also transform their organization to be smarter, better and faster than ever before using the technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to make that a reality.
