Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 8:30-9:30am EST
The Think Tank Context for India has undergone a series of changes since the post-independence era. The liberal era of the 90s substantiated their rapid evolution and thereby culminated in the policy landscape. However, the political scene over the last few years with changes in administration and governance has brought a wave of changes in the policymaking that has rendered these think tanks and their research areas striving for transparency, credibility, and recognition on a global scale. The Indian think tank ecosystem is widely capable of engaging in critical research in various policy domains. The unique set of developments, in a culturally and socio-political- religiously inclined nation is something that needs to be studied. The TTCSP is proud to be publishing a report that has undergone a comprehensive analysis to deliver a literature review and data to assess the historical narratives and empirically supported trends to create a more precise and refined distinction of the Indian think tank landscape. The report has provided an in-depth study and has further contrasted India with Asia Pacific countries to situate its global presence. At our launch, we will be presenting a synthesized PowerPoint version of key takeaways from the literature, our data, and subsequent policy recommendations.
This is one in a series of workshops that will present the data, research analysis of the state on think tanks in key countries and regions of the world including but not limited to: Western Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and North Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, India, Vietnam, China, Portugal, Latin America, Brazil, Korea, and Japan.
