Maria Staszkiewicz is a Junior at the University of Pennsylvania studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics with concentration in Public Policy and Governance. Her main areas of study are Political Economy, Foreign Policy, and International Security. Her experiences as a dual-citizen of Poland and Canada shaped her interest in international politics and economy, specifically between North America and Europe. Fluent in Polish and English, Maria plans to continue her study of French and German through literary works and study abroad opportunities.

In the Summer of 2021, Maria completed an internship at Global Affairs Canada, which is the country’s main government department responsible for diplomatic relations, international trade, and humanitarian assistance. She performed business process analysis for the Peace and Conflict Stabilization Program and researched the gender responsiveness of its projects. In 2020, she interned at the European Academy of Diplomacy, where she helped organize the Warsaw Summer Science Diplomacy School. Prior to beginning her studies at the University of Pennsylvania, she was a Compliance Analyst at the Toronto-based G7 Research Group, where she carried out global governance research. Maria is also involved in community service, works as a Research Assistant on social work studies, and plans to pursue law in the future.

At TTCSP, Maria will be serving as an Intern Coordinator for the Fall 2021 term.
